MAPPA DEI LUOGHI SELVATICI di e con Gianluigi Gherzi e Giuseppe Semeraro
Theatre
Certainly! Here's the translation of the Italian text into English:
---
Poetry becomes, in this show, a travel companion.
Two poetic voices, starting from opposite ends of Italy, traverse the places of our present: the wild spaces tied to nature, the wild and hidden ones linked to the city, and the more intimate and secret ones that are found along the less traveled routes of our soul. Poetry becomes a travel diary and a declaration of belonging to places, a love song to creation and to the paths. Poetry and theater meet to celebrate the encounter with the “where,” with a “here and now” that gives new splendor to the gazes of the actors and those of the audience.
"... a unique, fantastic, fairy-tale, cruel, political total theatrical experience. Poetry reaches a high and low language, it is a doing: “remember that you have horns and not wings.” Gianluigi Gherzi and Giuseppe Semeraro walk together and project the film of the world onto a “bloodied” screen.
Beaches, roads, cemeteries, animals and humans, trees and women on the move, exiles, drunkards, migrants, refugees. One must “hit against the walls to search for a ‘where’ hidden in the dark.” It is an invisible ‘where’ in the geography of the human, of the sacred need to touch with poetry, in the provocation of the present time: a dramaturgy of the sensitivity of touch. (...) There is Antigone, and she is a pop gypsy girl. A cigarette after the rain to make love to the sky in a ‘where’ without words.
Wounded houses, decayed, branded people. Organic and inorganic elements in this political and civil narrative that praises the crack, that speaks of illegal building practices, of buried poison. It is naked, it is raw, it is true, it is concrete poetry and we feel a renewed Pasolini in the Southern cities raped and rendered as carcasses. A panic us, a creaturely energy in a dance of words for a letter to the 600 sheep killed by dioxin, first burned as ancient holocaust or simply incinerated as toxic waste. “The fault is not being sheep but being a flock.”
