OLTRE - geografia del confine
Art & photography
Here's the translated text:
In Gioia del Colle, in the province of Bari, from September 26 to October 12, 2025, the first edition of "Beyond: Geography of the Border" will be held in the environments of Palazzo Romano. In continuity with “Escaping People” and “History of a Chain,” the important cultural events and major photographic exhibitions continue in Gioia del Colle, thanks to the support of Lucio Romano, who, aware of the fundamental role of art and culture within our communities, once again makes his Palazzo available to the public for a truly new event with a flavor of research, beauty, and sharing.
Photographers and artists engage in dialogue on the theme of the border, an uncertain space that awaits to be recoded as a diaphragm that brings together parts and souls to narrate with all possible alphabets the space of everyone: the world, the body, the home, the identity.
Palazzo Romano Events and the PUGLIÈ Association, in collaboration with the Cultural Association O.N.E. and the Social State of Photography, will have the pleasure of hosting Francesco Cito, who will not only exhibit his works but also hold workshops and talks to impart the basic rudiments of photographic art.
Following this, there will be additional meetings dedicated to the languages of art, aimed at acquiring greater awareness of one's creative potential and providing the basic tools to “feel” a photo or a piece of art, before which, often, a careful observation rather than a fleeting and distracted glance is always needed.
The project includes the involvement of students from the Scientific, Classical, and ITI High Schools of Gioia del Colle through the PCTO (Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation).
The objective will be to create a fertile ground where these disciplines can meet, contaminate each other, and generate innovative and multidisciplinary experiences, with the awareness that the intersection between the arts can open new perspectives and deeply enrich the audience's experience.
We believe that culture, understood as a shared, ever-changing, and evolving experience, is the most powerful tool for peace and mutual understanding.
