IMAGINARIA Festival Internazionale del Cinema d'Animazione d'Autore

The 23rd edition of the Imaginaria festival will be held in Conversano from August 17 to 24, solidifying its position in the European panorama of animated cinema. Thanks to the Oscar qualification obtained in 2024, the winners of the Main Competition over the next three years will automatically be eligible for consideration in the "Best Animated Short Film" category of the prestigious film award.

Some of the first new features for this upcoming edition include the launch of a European project through the creation of a FAN - Festivals Animation Network, funded by the "European Film Festival Networks" grant from the Creative Europe MEDIA program. A Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to the French master Michel Ocelot, with tributes and retrospectives planned.

The festival will feature a focus on comic artist and illustrator Manuele Fior, numerous workshops for children as part of the Imaginaria Kids section, the presence of an international jury, a remarkable 104 works in competition, national and international premieres, a special opening event with a concert by Nino Gvilia, and a closing event with Antonio Rezza and Flavia Mastrella presenting the cult show Pitecus for its 30th anniversary.

The entire program and booking options are available on the festival's website.
