Eighth appointment in Pulsano (TA) with Musica a Riva, the summer festival that transforms evenings into unforgettable sound experiences, thanks to offerings of the highest artistic level.

On Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the evocative cloister of the Convent of the Reformed Fathers – an 18th-century building, dating back to 1709–1712 and enriched with frescoes and statues of great value, whose tranquility and historical atmosphere make the concert experience unique – there will be the Special Concert of the Artistic Director of the Musicarerum Season and the Musica a Riva Festival, maestro Domenico Susca, entitled “Ancient Music”.

The program features pieces by Luis Milan, John Dowland, Girolamo Frescobaldi, Dietrich Buxtehude, and J. S. Bach: a refined journey through the art of guitar transcription, bringing back to the present masterpieces originally intended for vihuela, lute, harpsichord, and organ. The arrangements for six-string guitar are elegantly studied and fingered in a conscious dialogue between various instrumental idioms.

The event, sponsored by the Region of Puglia and the Municipality of Pulsano (represented by the Councilor for Culture Antonella Lippolis), is an integral part of the concert season Musica a Riva, directed by maestro Domenico Susca. Essential in the promotion of the festival are the associations Gruppo Culturale Letterario, chaired by Gian Carlo Lisi, and La ’Ngegna, directed by Maria Guglielmetti, which in synergy with the Municipality – committed to enhancing the historical center and the marina – have devised a series of ten unmissable appointments.
