The musical project “From the Gospel According to Fabrizio…” was born in 2009, ten years after the death of one of the greatest songwriters in the history of Italian music: Fabrizio De André. The creators of this project view it not merely as a "tribute" to the Author, but as an opportunity to disseminate the poetics and compositional style of a great figure of the twentieth century, long overlooked by the general public.
The show “From the Gospel According to Fabrizio…”, far from imitating the unparalleled theatrical-musical atmosphere of the album played by some of the best musicians of the Italian tradition (who became the famous Premiata Forneria Marconi in 1971), offers a live performance of the songs from “La Buona Novella” with arrangements revisited in a contemporary and personal manner, aimed at highlighting De André's compositional soul, musical sentiment, and poetry. The songs are interwoven with anecdotes, reflections, and captions that reveal the discovery of this masterpiece of singer-songwriter music through metaphors and allegories.
This show has been selected as an extracurricular educational activity by the University of Trento and has been hosted in various theaters and music festivals.
