ARVO PÄRT 90
Special mini-concert series to celebrate Arvo Part's 90 th birthday.
The concert season organized by the "Paolo Grassi" Music and Arts Center in collaboration with the Fondazione Paolo Grassi resumes with three new unmissable events to celebratethe 90 th birthday of Arvo Part, one of the most influential and spiritually profound composers of our time. This special mini-concert series promotes his music and artistic legacy. A visionary composer and a central figure in contemporary music, Arvo Part successfully combined formal rigor, minimalism, and mysticism, creating an unmistakable style—tintinnabuli—that has touched listeners around the world. His music, suspended between silence and light, continues to offer a space for reflection and beauty, all the more precious in our troubled times.
The initiative is the result of the significant and well-established international partnership between the Fondazione Paolo Grassi of Martina Franca and the PLFM Music Trust of Tallinn, Estonia.
Three concerts are scheduled: two in Martina Franca on September 19 th and 20 th, 2025, at the Fondazione Paolo Grassi headquarters, and one in Trani on September 21st, 2025, in the splendid setting of Palazzo Beltrani—thanks to a new collaboration with the prestigious I Dialoghi di Trani Festival. The concerts will feature two prestigious string quartets, the SUSU String Quartet (Finland) and the Camerata Musica String Quartet (Estonia), and pianist Liubov Gromoglasova.
In addition to works by Arvo Pärt and Estonian composers Tõnis Kõrvits, Artur Lemba, Jaan Rääts, and Heino Eller, audiences will hear compositions by pillars of Nordic music such as Edvard Grieg and Jean Sibelius.
