PRESS RELEASE
Nine editions and still the same wonder in the eyes: the Puglia Cake Festival – by Apulia Food & Cake Travel – under the artistic direction of Annalisa Stillavato and artist coordination by Catia Guida, returns more vibrant than ever with the support of the Municipality of Trani and the partnership of Confesercenti Prov.le BAT - Trani. This year's festival boasts 150 registrations and 11 competitions — 60% international — showcasing a mosaic of cultures and creativity. From elegant & luxury style Wedding Cakes to Royal Icing for celebrations, from Hand Painted that immerses us in underwater worlds to Modeling inspired by Greek mythology; through autumnal decorations on cookies, hyper-realistic sugar flowers, floral art, vintage Christmas painted plaques, realistic miniatures, the Beginners category dedicated to anniversaries, and the eternal dance around the Professional category: every competition tells a story, a talent, a passion. David Close, an international judge, is once again the special guest and guide for the judges in the competitions. The presence of Kelly Jane, founder and editor of D'licious Magazine, an international magazine dedicated to the art of pastry and cake decoration, is also reconfirmed. Launched in January 2022, the magazine will follow, in this edition as well, stories of human interest and tips for aspiring bakers. Once again, artist Catia Guida will astonish us with a sugar art exhibition dedicated to the eternal city with about 20 works, "ROME - the city of eternal beauty" and an artwork created by her, a reproduction of the monument "The Mouth of Truth," which will be donated to Confesercenti Trani.
Alongside the competitions, there are high-level masterclasses with internationally renowned instructors and judges — Mariya Ozturk, Silviya Jankowski, Vicky Chang, Eleonora Pchemyan, Giovanni Vitti, Sandra Zuncheddu, Tatyana Yefremova, Shak Perera, Arianna Sperandio, Flavia Stroscio, Goda Laivyte, Mary Presicci, Dora Luca, Veronica Seta, and Sébastien Haramendy — ready to share techniques, emotions, and art secrets. The significant participation of artists from Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Taiwan enriches the festival with new voices and different sensibilities. The support of LILT - Bat and Città dell’Infanzia as historical partners is essential: together they give voice not only to talents but also to relationships and beauty. For the 9th edition, the Puglia Cake Festival will also make history: the new partnership with Peperoncino Rosso – La Guida Stellata will bring cake design into the world of haute cuisine. The title "Puglia Cake Festival Star" is born, and for the first time, creations from the professional competition can receive from one to three stars. President Domenico di Noia and Councillor Lucio De Marchis will award talent, rigor, and passion. An exciting moment that recognizes the artistic and cultural value of pastry. There will also be stands dedicated to pastry and cake design with products, equipment, and materials to transform every idea into reality, through practical advice, aimed at sharing experiences, discovering new techniques, and tasting unique creations. The scent of sugar paste, the focused silence of the creators, the hands that tell stories: The Puglia Cake Festival is all this and much more. Three intense days dedicated to those who live cake art as a profession and passion, to discover professional opportunities, learn new techniques, and broaden horizons. All that remains is to share passions, encounters, and inspirations on October 11 and 12, enveloped by the unique aroma of creativity that only this festival can offer.
