FRANCESCO MARRA, pianoforte

Certainly! Here is the translated text:

Lecce-born pianist, born in 2012, is one of the most promising talents of the new generation. At only 13 years old, he is establishing himself with surprising maturity on the national and international music scene. A child of art, he grew up among rehearsals and stages alongside his father Antonio Marra, the historic drummer of the Night of the Taranta.

The passion for the piano was born when he was only four years old, after meeting Raphael Gualazzi in the rehearsal room of the Orchestra Popolare Notte della Taranta. Since then, Francesco has not parted from his piano "Roger," named in homage to his idol Roger Waters of Pink Floyd.

He studies with Maestro Giovanni Marzo at the Officine Musicali of Salve, then with Maestro Pasquale Iannone, refining his skills in classical piano and composition with Maestro Admir Shkurtaj. He graduated with honors in Basic Musical Subjects at the "Tito Schipa" Conservatory in Lecce and obtained the Grade 8 Keyboards of the Trinity College London.

Winner of numerous competitions, including the Crescendo Prize – City of Florence and the Don Enrico Smaldone Prize of Angri, he was a finalist in the Steinway & Sons Competition and won a gold medal at the London Youth Piano Competition Venue, the only Italian in the competition.

In 2026, he makes his theater debut for the "Sfere Sonore" series directed by Ludovica Rana, with a program that spans the ages from Mozart to Chopin, revealing a luminous, instinctive, and profound talent.
