LE MUSICHE DELLE SIGNORE MONACHE - concerto d'organo
"The Music of the Noble Nuns"
An unmissable event in San Severo, in collaboration with the Diocese of San Severo, the Office of Cultural Heritage and Religious Buildings, PAMO ONLUS.
The ancient organ of the Noble Nuns will be at the center of the evening, in an entirely "San Severo"-themed concert.
The appointment is set for Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 8:00 PM, in the picturesque setting of the Church of San Lorenzo delle Benedettine in San Severo, the site of the former monastery.
The event represents a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the sounds of the local 18th century, thanks to the performance of music by San Severo composers that have long remained unpublished. The concert is the culmination of meticulous and in-depth musicological research conducted by maestro Pierluigi Mazzoni, the organist of the Cathedral of Monopoli, known for his constant commitment to the recovery and enhancement of Apulian organ compositions.
The evening will also feature the participation of Dr. Antonio Troiano, an art historian and collaborator of the Diocesan Office of Cultural Heritage, who will enrich the program with historical insights and contributions.
Citizens and enthusiasts of music and history are invited to participate in this evening that combines faith, culture, and the rediscovery of the musical roots of the area.
