IN EXCELSIS DEO concerto itinerante

The anticipated Christmas concert of the “J. S. Bach” Polyphonic Choir of Conversano (BA) returns again this year. The well-known event “In Excelsis Deo” has now reached its third edition. A concert of Christmas music for soloists, choir, children's choir, symphony orchestra, and keyboard instrument.

The events will begin on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Church of the Immaculate in Noicattaro (BA), where a concert for soloists, choir, and keyboard instrument will inaugurate the traditional “Immaculate’s Nativity Scene,” a nativity scene that lives in history.

The following Saturday, December 13, 2025, starting from 6:00 PM, the performance of some Christmas pieces for soloists, choir, children's choir, and keyboard instrument will enliven the main streets of the large historic center of Conversano with an itinerant concert that, hopefully, will not be canceled due to bad weather.

A first complete concert will be performed on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 8:00 PM at the Parish Church of Saint Andrew the Apostle in Conversano (BA), where soloists, choir, children's choir, percussion, and keyboard instrument will celebrate Christmas as part of the concluding celebrations for the first centenary of the church's construction.

This will be followed by Saturday, December 20, 2025, when at 8:00 PM at the Main Church of “SS. Salvatore” in Capurso, the first major concert for soloists, choir, children's choir, symphony orchestra, and keyboard instruments will also celebrate the third centenary of Saint Joseph’s patronage over the city of Capurso.

The last major concert for soloists, choir, children's choir, symphony orchestra, and keyboard instrument will be held on Sunday, December 21, at 8:30 PM at the Main Church of “San Giorgio Martire” in Locorotondo (BA), one of the most emblematic cities in Apulia for Christmas celebrations.

All events are organized by the same “J. S. Bach” Polyphonic Choir of Conversano (BA) in collaboration with Avis, Avis In Corsa, the Parish of “Saint Andrew the Apostle” of Conversano (BA), the Parish “Santa Maria della Pace,” the Brotherhood of the Immaculate in Noicattaro (BA), the Main Church “Santissimo Salvatore” of Capurso (BA), and the Main Church “San Giorgio Martire” of Locorotondo (BA). All events will have the patronage of the Municipalities of Conversano, Capurso, and Locorotondo and the Diocese of Conversano-Monopoli.

The musical programs will include works by Arbeau, Davis, dé Liguori, Dvořák, Gruber, Beethoven, Pierpont, Verdi, and Wade.

The conductor will be Maestro Francesco Dello Spirito Santo, from Conversano, who has been involved in musical activities in Apulia and Piedmont for some time. The solo voices will be Luana Salonna, Rosanna Di Carolo, Giambattista Acquatico, Gianni Lepore, and Ivan Buonsante. The principal violinist will be Maestro Sandra Donvito, and at the piano, there will be Maestro Angela Muscatelli.

Admission to all concerts will be free and open to everyone, and all are invited to attend.
