Concerto Natalizio

The Friends of Music of Castellana Grotte (Bari) are concluding the 4th Itinerant Organ Showcase with a Christmas concert featuring three performers: CIRO GRECO, baritone; GIUSEPPE SCARATI, bass tuba; and PIERLUIGI MAZZONI, organ.

The concert will include music from the Christmas tradition and famous arias by Giordani, Scarlatti, and Rossini. However, it is primarily dedicated to the performance of a Prayer by composer SILVESTRO SASSO and two compositions by young composers with Roman training: EMANUELE STRACCHI, with the composition for bass tuba "ut, re, mi," which won the D. Vincenzo Vitti 2024 competition, and the Chorale "Behute mich Gott" by GILBERTO BARTOLONI.

EMANUELE STRACCHI, a pianist, composer, and conductor, has numerous performances to his credit, recorded for Radio3, and has held master classes and performances in the USA, UK, Switzerland, and Sweden. He has recorded three volumes titled "Contemporary Piano Music" for Diapason Records. He has taught at the Cagliari Conservatory and, starting in 2024, at the N. Sala Conservatory in Benevento.

GILBERTO BARTOLONI, a composition graduate, has attended advanced courses at the Imola Academy and composes and arranges for various media, spanning classical, electronic, ancient, pop, rock, and jazz music. Since 2017, he has been a professor in the composition department at the S.L. College of Music in Rome and the electronic music department in Testaccio.

Organ solo music by J.S. Bach and C. Franck will also be performed.

THE CONCERT WITH FREE ADMISSION WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE BASILICA SS. MEDICI IN ALBEROBELLO.
