Live music
Here's the English translation of the Italian text:
---
On Saturday, February 14, and Sunday, February 15, there will be a double musical appointment with "Ti racconto un album!" and "Forrò Navigante" in the renewed and welcoming spaces of the Urban Youth Laboratory of Corigliano d’Otranto, among comfortable sofas, soft lighting, an aperitif, and good drinks.
**TI RACCONTO UN ALBUM!**
On Saturday at 8:30 PM, the series "Ti racconto un album!" will kick off with Massimo Donno and Mino De Santis. This is a cycle of six author-focused events designed to listen to music up close, calmly, as if at home. The protagonists will be artists from the Salento cultural scene and national scene, invited to tell about their favorite album: a beloved record, an indispensable reference, a crucial milestone in their cultural, artistic, and human development. Through voice, instruments, projections, readings, and words, the audience will be able to enter the world of those on stage from a more intimate and direct perspective, far from the traditional concert setting. The first event will feature a dialogue between “La Buona novella” by Fabrizio De André and “La novella quasi buona” by Mino De Santis. It is a journey between sacred and profane, between the apocryphal gospels narrated by the Genoese singer-songwriter and the characters born from the pens of the two Salentine authors and performers. Massimo Donno moves fluidly between song, theater, and writing. In his career, he has published "Amore e Marchette," "Partenze," "Viva il Re!," "Lontano," and the recent "La spada e l’incanto," collaborating with some of the most authoritative figures in Italian music and earning numerous accolades. Mino De Santis has remained a unique case throughout the years. He tells stories as a photographer with his snapshots, an impressionist painter who freezes the world on a canvas, or a country sage who reflects the vices and virtues of his people, always with richness and irony. After the inaugural event, the exploration of very different musical worlds will continue. The second evening will feature Alessia Tondo, who will tell about "Five Leaves Left" by Nick Drake, a fragile and luminous album, suspended between folk and melancholy (Saturday, February 21). Following that, Emanuele Licci will take the audience into the universe of Buena Vista Social Club, a tribute to music capable of crossing generations and borders (Saturday, February 28). The month of March will open with an evening dedicated to rock and grunge, with Redi Hasa and Valerio Daniele, accompanied by Giorgia Salicandro, for a story that traverses bands like Soundgarden and Nirvana (Saturday, March 7). Andrea Baccassino will then guide the listening of "Ten Summoner’s Tales" by Sting (Saturday, March 14), before the closing event led by Gaetano Cortese, featuring "Sono solo canzonette" by Edoardo Bennato, a manifesto album of an irony that is still very relevant today (Saturday, March 21). From 7:30 PM, attendees can settle in to enjoy an aperitif, a sandwich, a dessert, and good wine. Associative contribution: 6 euros. Limited seating with reservations recommended. **LABORATORIO URBANO GIOVANILE**
On Sunday at 8:30 PM, the Urban Youth Laboratory will host a Carnival Party celebrating music and Brazilian folk dance with Forrò Navigante, an exciting sonic journey into Brazil's rich musical traditions. The concert unfolds as a true dancing party, inspired by the warmth of Brazilian popular festivals, where the audience is not just a spectator but an active part of the event, amid masks, colors, movement, and rhythm. Created and directed by Claudio Prima, a Salento organettist and singer always attentive to boundary music, the project weaves together traditional instruments and rhythms that narrate centuries of exchange between Europe, Africa, and South America. Joining him on stage will be Valentina Cantora (vocals), Angelo Edinho (guitar and vocals), Clara Blavet (flute), Mestre Canhão (vocals and percussion), Elena nel Mondo (percussion), and Pierluigi Stampete (bass). The forrò, which originated in Brazil in the early 1900s alongside samba, is a sensual and engaging couple's dance. From 7:30 PM, attendees can settle in to enjoy an aperitif, a sandwich, a dessert, and good wine. Associative contribution: 10 euros (live event and tasting). Limited seating with reservations recommended. Info: 3927026114 - lumbroia@massimodonno.it.
