At Piccolo Teatro Comunale, three event nights filled with emotions, music, and plot twists.
With the patronage of the Municipality of Martina Franca, the Department of Cultural Activities and Entertainment, the Department of Tourism and Territorial Marketing, and the Department of Productive Activities, the Theater Company Fuoritempo presents its new original production “VIRAMARE – The Musical,” on stage May 29, 30, and 31, 2026, at the Piccolo Teatro Comunale “Valerio Cappelli.”
A ship ready to sail.
An elegant gala repeated every year.
An impeccable crew.
Passengers carrying invisible luggage.
Ready to set sail for a journey outside of time, in a suspended place where passengers and crew share a journey that intertwines destinies, expectations, and fragilities.
Captain LEON PREVEAUX (Fabio Tamburrano), along with the ship’s doctor, his wife FRAU LUDMILLA (Arianna Semeraro), promises safety, sophistication, and an unforgettable night: that of the “Gala of the Tides.” The irreverent souls of the crew are POPPA (Salvatore Blasi) and PRUA (Paolo Colucci), who embody the inner conflict between hard-won freedom and past wounds.
Among the passengers, we find OMAR LE FERIES (Emanuele Solazzo) and KRISTINA (Sara Fumarola), always closely bonded, alongside his parents: GRIMILDE (Luisa D’Amore) and PANCRAZIO LE FERIES (Cristian Nardelli), driven by conflicting values, fears, and desires.
Also on board the floating shell are: PAUL HARDONK (Paolo Decuia), his ex-wife JACQUELINE (Sabrina Palmisano), and their son RICHARD (Angelo Semeraro), a family strongly devoted to form, prestige, and a rigorous idea of order.
In the picturesque and plastic noise of the vicissitudes of young and old, the motor of the journey is the filter emotions of reality: FEAR (Antonio Potenza), TRUST (Giulia Convertini), and HOPE (Gabriella Pinto), who observe and accompany human events with deep introspection.
The appearance of MARINE (Sofia Palmisano) is precious, a mysterious enchantress who guards the most authentic connection with each individual’s self. The journey thus becomes a shared emotional path, where the sea reflects LIFE (Nicola Neglia) that accommodates and resolves conflicts and contradictions. “…because in the end there’s no fault, it’s just Life.”

AN UNMISSABLE THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE!
Amidst scenic elegance, ironic moments, and intensely powerful passages, the show alternates between lightness and depth, presenting a narrative about identity, family, expectations, and decisive choices.
The direction and artistic direction are by Claudio Russano, as has been customary for the last 22 years, with choreography by Maestro Salvatore Blasi and a large cast that creates a dynamic, choral, and engaging stage setup.
“Viramare” is a show that surprises without ever fully revealing itself. It speaks of love, but without rhetoric, narrates family realities without holding back, because it reminds us that changing direction is not a defeat: it’s a choice!
