Storie cantate - I canti di radice in Puglia

**Sung Stories**
*The songs of roots in Puglia*

There is no people without song, and there was no event that was not consecrated to it: it was tied to magic and religion, work and celebration, love and death; it healed the ailments of the body and soul.

Through song, man asserted his existence and expressed feelings and desires often difficult to communicate in a restrictive society.

Through sound and audiovisual materials collected over more than twenty years of field research, ethnomusicologist Massimiliano Morabito will guide us on a journey through the songs of our farmers, restoring the stories, functions, and meanings of the last protagonists of this world.
