This time the wait has been long, but it’s worth it because an unmissable event of
Aperitivo d’Autore is just around the corner. On
March 30th,
Lorenza Gentile, one of the most original and followed voices in contemporary Italian literature, will present her new novel
The Right Time (
Feltrinelli Editore).
The appointment is at
7:30 PM at
Masseria Triglie, an 18th-century building that is part of the 100 Masserie of Crispiano. As per the tradition of the
Volta la carta format, the evening will start with a tasting, this time curated by the kitchen of the venue, accompanied by wines from
Cantine San Giorgio (Tinazzi). Additionally, participants in Aperitivo d’Autore will have the opportunity to visit all the spaces of the masseria.
Told with the grace and luminous writing of the Milanese author, the book is a charming story of rebirth and, like all her novels, interprets a collective and very contemporary feeling: the moment we stop adapting to others is often the moment we truly begin to live. It becomes clear within its pages that there are no right or wrong choices; there are only our choices, those that bring us closer to who we are.
In Crispiano, Lorenza Gentile will be in dialogue with journalist Vincenzo Parabita, creator of Aperitivo d’Autore.

• THE BOOK •
Will it be the right time? Lucilla always wonders, but things never go as they should. After a series of wrong men and attempts to fit in just to be loved, she meets Enrico. Together they win a bid to manage a tavern in a “dusty municipality,” a small village at risk of depopulation in the Maritime Alps. It seems like the ideal opportunity, finally. One thousand two hundred meters above sea level. Fifteen souls, plus two. Too bad one is late. Lucilla finds herself alone, in someone else's dream and with a contract that requires a couple. Stay or flee? Pretend to be two or learn to count on herself? Meanwhile, the locals come to her aid. Eliseo, the guardian of local traditions; Nives, an expert in herbs and a resilient mother; a mysterious Japanese man who communicates only through a simultaneous translator; Libero, an architect torn between the mountain and the metropolis, who seems to understand Lucilla without needing many words. But in the heart of winter, with frozen pipes and memories knocking at the door, it gradually emerges that everyone harbors a secret, and that every life, even if seemingly perfect, has lights and shadows. With the arrival of spring, Lucilla will begin to understand that when it comes to finding her place in the world, there are no right or wrong choices: in the city or in the mountains, alone or as a couple, it’s just a matter of personal synthesis. What will hers be? Told with the grace and luminous writing of Lorenza Gentile, a charming story of rebirth: the moment we stop adapting to others is often the moment we truly begin to live.
• THE LOCATION •
Nestled in the land of the Hundred Masserie and surrounded by ancient olive trees and dry-stone walls, the masseria still tells the authentic rural life of Puglia today, amidst ancient traditions, unspoiled nature, and genuine hospitality. Built between the 17th and 18th centuries, Masseria Triglie preserves the charm of white stone architecture, with its internal courtyards, stables, trulli, and spaces dedicated to agricultural production. Today, it is a place where time seems to slow down and offers visitors authentic experiences related to the land, typical cuisine, and ancient peasant customs. The "closed courtyard" structure has been skillfully restored, respecting its history and adapting to the needs of travelers. Masseria Triglie is the ideal place for those looking to spend days in complete relaxation, but also for celebrating small ceremonies, business lunches, and meetings, where guests can appreciate how culinary wisdom combines with the authentic flavors of nature and with zero-kilometer products from the garden. The facility has six comfortable rooms, with exposed stone and renovated to preserve their ancient charm, and three spacious apartments, as well as a swimming pool set in the Crispiano countryside.
• THE WINES •
The story of Tinazzi began over fifty years ago in Lazise, on the shores of Lake Garda, thanks to the efforts of founder Eugenio. His son Gian Andrea, joined today by his children Giorgio and Francesca, has guided the company to international achievements, making it one of the most interesting realities in Italian viticulture with over 100 hectares of vineyards between Veneto and Puglia. The expansion to the South was born from an intuition of Gian Andrea who, in 2001, after a pleasure trip to Puglia, struck by the potential of indigenous grape varieties, purchased the Feudo Croce property in the Carosino area, planted vineyards, and built the masseria, dedicating it to the cultivation of Primitivo, Negroamaro, and Malvasia Nera. The bond with the territory was solidified in 2011 with the founding of Cantine San Giorgio in San Giorgio Ionico, created to enhance local oenological excellence. To further boost production, in July 2020 the winery was moved to a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in the municipality of Faggiano. Today, Cantine San Giorgio represents the Apulian line of the group dedicated to the most authentic tradition. The bush-trained cultivation method and the fruity, structured character of the wines find their maximum expression in iconic labels such as Imperio LXXIV (Primitivo di Manduria Dop), Megale (Negroamaro Salento Igp), Malnera (Merlot Malvasia Nera Igp), Alèa (Malvasia Bianca Puglia Igp, and other minor grape varieties). With 25 hectares of vineyard in Puglia, the heart of Tinazzi’s production continues to combine technological innovation and peasant culture, bringing the excellence of Salento to over 30 countries worldwide.
