**THE SIDEREAL SWAMP**
Saturday, March 28, 2026
from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Project Parati at Mercato Campagna Amica (Coldiretti), Via Umbria 147/A, Taranto
The Project Parati space hosts the presentation event for *La Palude Siderale* (ziczic edizioni, 2026), a collective publication curated by the Post Disaster collective, along with the screening of the homonymous video created with Antonio Stea.
This is a moment of public restitution and critical activation related to Post Disaster Rooftops EP05, a curatorial and spatial platform active in Taranto since 2018, which uses rooftops as devices for collective learning and experimentation in crisis-stricken territories.
*La Palude Siderale* collects exercises in re-imagination and critical reflections that traverse the territory of Taranto through the ambivalent lens of the swamp: a monstrous and generative figure, a transitional space where life and death, surface and depth, toxicity and possibility coexist.
The swamp emerges as a theoretical and imaginative device for reading territories marked by ecological and industrial crises, where the legacies of modernity—extractive, violent, dewatering—settle into hybrid, unstable, and fertile forms.
The swamp has arisen, whether we like it or not, where we once envisioned realizing the now-broken dream of modernity.
**POST DISASTER** is an interdisciplinary collective whose practice intertwines spatial, performative, and editorial actions. Their research utilizes the metaphor of disaster as a territorial lens to understand global dynamics and tensions.
In 2018, they launched POST DISASTER ROOFTOPS, a long-term project taking place on the rooftops of Taranto, an industrial city in Southern Italy whose crisis intertwines ecological, economic, and geopolitical issues. Through the lens of the city, the practice-based investigation addresses the role of extraction/production processes in relation to a broader Mediterranean context.
Their practice has been awarded by the Italian Ministry of Culture. Their work and research have been exhibited in independent artistic and cultural institutions such as the Venice Architecture Biennale, the Milan Triennale, and Ca' Foscari University in Venice. They have recently been invited to contribute to the upcoming Malta Biennale of Art.
Parati project is a new project room in Taranto dedicated to contemporary artistic research, focusing on emerging artists. The project is driven by artist and art historian Gianluca Marinelli, photographer Angelo Greco, and curator Cristina Carriere. Parati is part of the initiative to enhance the territory supported by Coldiretti Taranto and Campagna Amica, aiming to promote cultural and community initiatives.
