**Saturday, May 2** continues the program of **“OrgaNova,”** the international organ festival of Santa Maria del Passo, under the artistic direction of **Margherita Sciddurlo.** This is a special event featuring organist **Filippo Sorcinelli,** who will perform at 8 PM in the **Church of San Domenico in Mola di Bari** in a concert titled **“Look, Feel, Touch.”**
A multifaceted and hard-to-categorize artist, Sorcinelli embodies a vision of art as a total experience, capable of transcending the boundaries between languages and disciplines. He is an organist, composer, but also a creator of perfumes and the founder of the atelier LAVS - a center of excellence for the creation of sacred vestments for the Catholic Church. Over the years, Sorcinelli has developed a unique path that is recognized internationally. His creations adorn, among others, the last three popes, from Benedict XVI to Francis to Pope Leon XIV, while his olfactory research, initiated in 2014 with a house of art perfumes, openly interacts with sound, memory, and the sacred.
It is this tension toward a synesthetic dimension that characterizes the two concerts in Puglia: music and fragrance become complementary tools of perception, capable of amplifying listening and transforming it into an immersive experience. During the performance, fragrances specially conceived in advance - the new **“extrait de musique”** - will be diffused, interacting with the pieces on the program, enhancing their expressive qualities and creating a direct relationship between space, sound, and sensory memory. This journey finds further fulfillment in the presence of the renowned sacred vestments created by the artist, sealing an ongoing dialogue between visual art, liturgy, and music.
The concert on May 2 in Mola di Bari offers a journey through different eras and styles, from Johann Sebastian Bach - with **“Erbarm dich mein, o Herre Gott”** BWV 721 and the **“Fantasia”** BWV 562 - to the Northern Baroque of Dietrich Buxtehude (**“Prelude and Fugue in D”** BuxWV 139), passing through the lyricism of Edward Elgar (**“Chanson de matin”** op. 15 no. 2), the introspective spirituality of Marco Enrico Bossi (**“Resignation”**), and the English elegance of John Stanley (**“Voluntary in A”**). A program designed as an inner journey, where each piece becomes an opportunity for meditation and deep listening.
With a solid musical background - between the "G. Rossini" Conservatory in Pesaro and the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome - and extensive experience as a titular organist in the cathedrals of Fano, Rimini, and San Benedetto del Tronto, Sorcinelli combines performance practice with intense research activity, with particular attention to improvisation, understood as a creative and spiritual act, a synthesis of tradition and intuition. His presence at OrgaNova thus represents not only a moment of high artistic profile but also a rare opportunity to explore an idea of music that becomes ritual, space, and total perception.
Admission is free, until seats are filled. OrgaNova is promoted and organized by the cultural association **“Arte & Musica,”** with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Puglia Region, and the Municipality of Mola di Bari, in collaboration with the Pasquale Battista Foundation and the support of the main sponsor **“Levigas Luce e Gas.”** For information: 340.376.15.50.
