There is a whole world to discover behind
"Vini Vaganti", an event that on Sunday, May 24, will involve the entire historic center of Lecce. The world is that of natural wines, wines from organic or biodynamic agriculture that, throughout the production process, exclude the use of chemical additives.
About 15 of the most prestigious venues in Lecce are involved, each hosting several natural wine producers who have come from all over Italy. It will be the producers themselves who will tell participants in the itinerant tasting what artisanal wines are, what ethical choices lie behind their production methods, and how these wines, which increasingly fascinate a clientele attentive to the environment and sustainability, are born.
One ticket for unlimited tastings
Vini Vaganti works like this: with the purchase of a bracelet (25 euros at www.vinivaganti.com), attendees are entitled to unlimited tastings of natural wine. By presenting themselves at the meeting point (Baro Moro, via degli Ammirati), they will receive a personal glass and a map of the venues participating in the event: they will be able to create their own tasting route. The added value of the event comes from the presence of about twenty natural wine producers from all over Italy, who will be spread across different venues to share the stories of their wineries and introduce the wines being tasted. Thus, during a gastronomic walk, participants can explore the center of Lecce and simultaneously make various stops to taste the natural wines.

The news: the ViniVaganti App
This year the event goes digital with an app that allows users to purchase tickets with a 10% discount and easily access the interactive map of the venues and the wineries hosted by each of them.
The organizers
The event stems from the avant-garde spirit of
Natalino Del Prete, the owner of the eponymous winery in San Donaci and the founding father of the natural wine philosophy in Puglia, who is supported in the organization as well as in the winery by his daughter
Mina Del Prete.
"After last year’s Lecce edition and the Christmas Edition in Sicily,"
Mina recounts, "many people have asked us to do Vini Vaganti again, especially for the positive energy our city transmitted to everyone. This year we are returning to Lecce with a great novelty: an app that offers an interactive experience in the tasting journey and provides the opportunity to stay in touch with the producers and their wines even after the event day. Thanks to the app, it will be easier to replicate Vini Vaganti in other regions and even outside Italy." "I have always wanted my producer friends from all over Italy,"
Natalino De Prete continues, "to have the opportunity to be known in Puglia, free of charge. For me, Vini Vaganti is a dream come true, and seeing it grow more and more every year fills me with pride."
