The concert **“FROM SOUTH TO SOUTH”** arises from the fortunate meeting of **two artists hailing from two geographically distant Souths,** united by a vibrant music that tells the **story of lands with ancient and resilient roots,** yet also capable of reinventing themselves and looking to the future with skilled and careful experimentation.
On one side is **the Apulian Nico Berardi, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, master, and innovator of the bagpipes and a key member of the Orchestra della Notte della Taranta,** who has expanded his musical research into Hispanic-American music since he was a boy, blending its rhythms and instruments with those of his homeland; on the other side is **the Chilean Zepe, a prodigious guitarist and composer from the beautiful and remote island of Chiloé,** specialized in music from Latin America and flamenco rhythms, who has made Puglia his adopted land and absorbs its musical culture, blending it with that of southern Chile.

As interpreters and also **arrangers and composers, Berardi and Zepe blend strings and winds with skillful mastery in a refined, engaging, and entertaining instrumental concert, a distillation of precious soundscapes, the result of contemporary creativity.**
In the concert **“FROM SOUTH TO SOUTH,”** there is the **culture of Southern Italy** — emblematic is the presence of the queen of instruments from southern Italy, the bagpipe — but also **a lot of music from South America:** instruments like the charango (traditionally a small guitar made from armadillo shell) and the Andean flutes are used with naturalness and virtuosity even outside their typical context.

A **sonic journey** with many enjoyable stops and rich surprises, with a **repertoire that is itself a meeting between the traditional rhythms of Latin America (chacarera, huayno, etc.) and those of Southern Italy (tarantella, pizzica...)** alongside original compositions from each of the two artists that draw from various genres and styles in their personal artistic journeys, creating wonderful musical incursions.

In “FROM SOUTH TO SOUTH”, two different Souths meet and enhance each other in a unique sonic experience to immerse oneself in the beauty, dynamism, and depth of Latin American music mirrored with the music of our South and the technical evolution and mastery of two curious and sensitive musicians shine a light on a world of unexpected art and harmony.
