FASANO (BR) – A magical night where the shores of the Mare Nostrum merge into a single, overwhelming score. On Saturday, June 20, 2026, right after La Scamiciata, the lights of Piazza Ciaia will shine on the new edition of "Rhythms and Sounds from the Mediterranean."
The heart of Fasano will transform into a grand open-air stage ready to host an extraordinary journey through folklore, period songs, ancestral dances, and breathtaking costumes. The festival, born to celebrate music as a universal language of meeting and welcoming, features an exceptional lineup this year that brings together prestigious national acts and local talents.
🌟 The Line-Up of the evening:
**Folkloric Group "Città di Castrovillari" (Calabria):** A true legend of Italian folklore worldwide. Active since 1929, they have carried the soul and pride of Calabria from the 1986 World Cup in Mexico to Columbus Day celebrations in the United States, including the Expo in Milan, China, and France. They arrive in Fasano ready to infect the square with the liveliness of their traditional dances and the beauty of their costumes adorned with historical embroidery.
**Popular Culture Company "Le Bangale" (Molise):** Hailing from Baranello with a tremendous history that dates back to the 1920s (even participating in the Berlin Olympics of 1936). On stage, they will present a true "narrative book" made up of original costumes and captivating music to tell the stories, loves, and complex genuineness of the Molisana peasant civilization.
**Folk Group "La Stella" from Ostuni (Puglia):** Neighbors from the White City bring a richly diverse ensemble (comprising about 50 performers with accordions, small organs, mandolins, and tambourines) and a long tradition of European tours. Their costumes inspired by Arab-Spanish styles will accompany an exhilarating repertoire that peaks in the final explosion of the immortal and liberating “Pizzica Pizzica Tarantata.”
**Research Group on Popular Culture “I Canti del Faso” (Puglia):** Local hosts and tireless organizers of the festival. Active for over fifty years and now in their fifth generation, the musicians from Fasano will take the stage in their colorful outfits to bring back to the square the most authentic memories, ballads, and the identity pride of our land.
A must-attend event for tourists, folk music enthusiasts, and anyone wanting to experience a Saturday night in Puglia immersed in a vibrant, festive, and welcoming atmosphere.
