MasserItria Fest 2026

There is a place where the sky seems closer, where the landscape tells ancient stories, and where culture meets the wonder of discovery. It is the Belvedere of Caranna, in Cisternino, which this year will host the 15th edition of MasserItria Fest, a series of cultural and scientific events conceived and organized by the Associazione Meteo Valle d’Itria OdV that will accompany the summer of 2026 with appointments dedicated to art, knowledge, the environment, and the enhancement of the territory.

The festival was created with the aim of transforming one of the most picturesque views of the Valle d'Itria into a space open for meeting between people, ideas, and experiences, involving families, enthusiasts, curious individuals, and visitors of all ages.

The 2026 edition kicks off with an intense weekend full of emotions, among stars, telescopes, and kites.
Saturday, July 4: a romantic journey among the Moon, stars, and planets
The first event, scheduled for 7:30 PM, bears an evocative title: "You for me are Moon and Stars...".
It will be an evening dedicated to the charm of the universe, guided by experts from the Astrophile Group of Salento (GAS), who will take the audience on a fascinating journey through astronomy, scientific dissemination, and sky observation.
Participants will be able to visit the astrophotography exhibition "At the Borders of the Universe," observe the night sky through telescopes, watch the documentary "Life Beyond Earth," and share a pleasant tasting of local products.
A unique opportunity to be surprised by the beauty of the cosmos and rediscover the pleasure of looking up at the sky, away from the city lights, immersed in the tranquility of nature.

Sunday, July 5: the sky is colored with the Kite Festival
The next morning, at 9:30 AM, the festival changes perspective but keeps its gaze turned upward with the Kite Festival.
The initiative, carried out with the participation of volunteers from Teniamoci per Mano Onlus, will be dedicated to children, families, and all those who wish to spend a morning outdoors in the spirit of creativity and sustainability.
Participants will be able to build kites using recycled materials, playfully experimenting with the principles of wind and flight. A tasty snack made from fruit will not be lacking, to share a moment of joy and togetherness.

A festival that unites territory and knowledge. MasserItria Fest thus reaffirms its vocation: to create opportunities for meetings that can dialogue with culture, science, nature, and community.

Amidst astronomical observations, creative workshops, cultural meetings, and outdoor experiences, the festival represents an invitation to live the territory authentically, transforming each event into a discovery and participation experience.

Admission to the events is free. A dedicated ticket is required for the tasting on July 4. We will have the pleasure of hosting the Cantina Museo ALBEA of Alberobello with its excellent wines from the region.
The summer of the Valle d'Itria is ready to begin. And the first appointment is with wonder.
