Here is the English translation of the Italian text:
"There are places that, by their nature, are destined for meeting. Santa Maria di Leuca, the southernmost point of Italy and a natural bridge to the Mediterranean, has always been a borderland: a place where peoples, cultures, and stories have intersected over the centuries. It is from this vocation that Leucasia Fest – International Street Music is born, the first national festival exclusively dedicated to street music, which will transform the seafront of Leuca into a large open-air stage on Saturday, July 18, starting at 9:00 PM. Promoted by the Capo Live Association with artistic direction by Matteo Greco, the first edition of Leucasia Fest brings together fifteen artistic presences, including bands, soloists, and performers, in a program that spans a wide range of musical genres and expressive forms: from street bands to world music, from jazz to folk, from rock to electronic experimentation, including performances built with unconventional instruments. A mosaic of languages that tells the richness of contemporary street music. Among the most anticipated guests will be Miwa and i Suoi Componenti, a real phenomenon on the national scene, capable of engaging the audience in a concert-show dedicated to the themes of animated series from the 1980s and 1990s. A high-energy show that combines nostalgia, irony, and rock, bringing together children, parents, and entire generations to sing along. The audience will also be surprised by Drumbo Drummer, an artist who transforms bins, buckets, pots, and recycled materials into an extraordinary percussion orchestra, demonstrating how creativity and rhythm can emerge from the simplest of objects. The project Strade Aperte is particularly original, blending electronic music, self-constructed instruments, and corrugated tubes into an unprecedented sound experience, where musical research and invention become a show. Standing out among the international guests is the virtuosic Polish guitarist Bartek Dąbrowski, known for his great technical and expressive sensitivity. There is also high anticipation for BandaKadabra, one of the most appreciated marching bands in Italy, which will perform at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games in Milan-Cortina at the Arena di Verona. This Turin-based group puts on a mesmerizing show that combines jazz, Balkan music, Mediterranean sounds, improvisation, and musical theater, engaging the audience from the very first moment. Among the most engaging performers are the Ottopiù Street Band, a traveling formation known for its interaction with the audience, blending funk, jazz, Balkan music, and contemporary sounds with an explosion of brass, percussion, and energy. The program will also feature artists from very different backgrounds, such as Joel Rodrigues, Irene Betti, Swing31, Soulin' Duo, Salentrio, La Terza Classe, Vincenzo Maggiore, AlpKing, and Gabriele Pollina, confirming the festival's desire to offer a broad and international perspective on street music. “We imagined Leuca as the ideal place for this festival because it is a borderland, a point where for centuries men, cultures, and peoples have gazed at, approached, and recognized each other. Music is perhaps the ultimate universal language: one of the oldest ways in which humans have sought to connect with one another, overcoming boundaries, differences, and distances. This, after all, is the deeper meaning of Leucasia Fest: to remind us that the meaning of everything always begins with a meeting.”
