Journalist and reporter Cecilia Sala will be at the Yachting Club to present “The Children of Hate,” her new book on the Middle East. The Conversation Corner will host one of the most relevant figures in contemporary Italian journalism. On Friday, July 31, at 9:00 PM, on the Y Beach stage, it will be an intriguing appointment with Cecilia Sala, a young journalist from Chora News and war correspondent.

Author and voice of the daily podcast Stories, Cecilia Sala also writes for Il Foglio and has covered crises and conflicts in Iran, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Georgia, Venezuela, South Sudan, Israel, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. In 2024, she held an international affairs column on Massimo Gramellini's program, In altre parole, and since 2025, she has been a guest of Fabio Fazio on Che tempo che fa.

On December 19, 2024, Cecilia Sala was arrested in Iran while working on her podcast Stories with a journalist visa. She remained imprisoned in Evin prison until January 8, 2025, the day of her release, which occurred after intense diplomatic and intelligence efforts.

At the Conversation Corner, she will present her latest book, "The Children of Hate," a narrative report published by Mondadori. The book is a journey into three significant fractures: the radicalization of Israel, the destruction of Palestine, and the collapse of the Resistance Axis with its center in Tehran.

With a vivid and direct style, the journalist traverses checkpoints, enters raids, and visits the homes of military leaders, survivors, victims, and those who have chosen to fight. In every context, a common theme emerges: a deep generational clash that shapes the present but remains largely untold.

The book includes interviews with key figures, including Hossein Kanaani, one of the founders of the Revolutionary Guards; Ronen Bergman, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, who discusses Israel's failure to defend itself from its own armed extremism; and Imad Abu Awad, a Palestinian analyst who no longer believes in either diplomacy or war, seeing only a possibility in civil war.
