ONE HUNDRED MARILYN!

From the story of the friendship between Marilyn Monroe and Ella Fitzgerald, and on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s birth, comes the show “ONE HUNDRED MARILYN!”, a stage adaptation of the musical comedy *“Marilyn and Ella,”* written and directed by Mina Panaro.

Three women take the stage, bringing back to life the splendor and life story of the diva who, through her charm and mystery, remains an undisputed and unrivaled icon in the history of cinema, as well as a major sociocultural phenomenon.

The show reveals lesser-known aspects of the star’s commitment to protecting human rights and fighting racial and gender discrimination—causes that played an important role in the Hollywood star’s character and public life.

Through the most famous songs by Ella Fitzgerald and Marilyn Monroe, performed by singer Elena Mallardi, and the stage narration entrusted to actresses Mafalda Greco and Mina Panaro (the author), the audience will embark on a journey through 1950s America, amid Hollywood glamour and the contradictions that have always characterized the New World.

The event is part of Mottola’s summer events program, is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Mottola, Department of Culture, and is organized and hosted by LixLi Frescheria, in collaboration with the Circolo Carlo Schiavone and the Pro Loco di Mottola.
