After the great success in terms of public reception and attendance of the first event held last August 12, the “team” bringing together the **Pulsano Archaeological Museum** and **Carmelinda Petraroli** returns, with a pictorial narrative based on texts by **Vincenzo Ludovico**. The theme of the event will be **“The Storytelling of the Symposium: Illustrated Tales from Antiquity. The MAP Collection through Wheat, Olive Oil and Wine.”**
**Wednesday, August 26, starting at 8:00 p.m.,** in front of Carmelinda Petraroli’s “Il mio rifugio” Art Studio, and with the honorary patronage of the Municipality of Pulsano, the format **“Painting the Stories of the Symposium with Light”** will take shape through a series of stories and evocative reflections curated by scholar and historian Vincenzo Ludovico. The guiding theme will be wheat, wine and olive oil as the elements that brought people together at the symposium, where stories and anecdotes were recounted as early as antiquity. More specifically, the focus will be on several pieces from the museum collection: decorated narrative vessels from **Magna Graecia**, which were used during the symposium.
Once again, words and materials will seek one another out, embrace one another and complete one another before the eyes of the spectators.
Following institutional greetings from Pietro D’Alfonso, Mayor of Pulsano; Antonella Lippolis, Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Social Policies and Integration, Culture, Entertainment and Equal Opportunities; and Cosima Bolognino, Councillor for Public Education, Youth Policies, Educational and Training Policies, and Demographic Services, Vincenzo Ludovico, representing the MAP—Pulsano Civic Archaeological Museum—will lead the narrative segment. The event will be hosted by Matteo Gentile, journalist and writer.
The entire event will be a combination of art and history. On the one hand, there will be the evocative power of the stories and writings reworked by **Vincenzo Ludovico**, also drawing on valuable documentation. He will construct a map of memory, a thread connecting recollections and nostalgia, as well as the light and visceral love for our land.
On the other hand, there is the visual art of **Carmelinda Petraroli** and her **EVOART™** technique: a unique approach to painting that does not use traditional pigments, but rather the most sacred and ancestral elements of our identity—extra-virgin olive oil and wine applied to cardboard.
The event will take place on Wednesday, August 26, starting at 8:00 p.m., on Via Lunga degli Aborigeni, at the intersection with Vico Marotta, with **EVOART Meets History: “Painting the Stories of the Symposium with Light.”** Admission is free.
**Carmelinda Petraroli**, born in Turin, is an Italian contemporary painter who has worked mainly in Puglia, where she has lived for many years. The daughter of an artist, she inherited her passion for painting from her father, Orazio Petraroli, an acclaimed Surrealist painter, and began drawing as a child. She earned an art teaching diploma in Grottaglie and worked as a draftsman and architectural designer before devoting herself fully to art. Her figurative painting combines elements of classicism and modernity, focusing on the expression of emotions and the inner dimension. Throughout her career, she has taken part in numerous exhibitions and competitions, receiving various awards, including prizes at national art events and first place at the Festival dell’Immagine in Martina Franca. Recently, she registered the “EVOART” trademark with the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM), associated with her environmentally sustainable painting technique based on extra-virgin olive oil and wine, as well as with the format **“Painting with Light” ©**, registered with SIAE.
**Vincenzo Ludovico**, active in the cultural scene of Puglia and the Ionian area, is distinguished by his commitment to promoting the artistic and historical heritage and local traditions of Pulsano and its surrounding area. Through his work with the MAP, he promotes contemporary art, historical memory and public engagement with the community’s cultural heritage.
**Main initiatives and collaborations:** activities at the MAP, development of exhibition programs and cultural meetings designed to stimulate interest in figurative and conceptual art.
**Local events:** active participation in the organization of summer events, book presentations, historical conferences and educational workshops in the Municipality of Pulsano.
