Camminata Tra Gli Ulivi - Bitetto

🌱 **Walk Among the Olive Trees in Bitetto: health, local heritage, and support for our producers** 🌿

📆 On **Sunday, October 25, 2026, starting at 10:30 a.m.**, join us for the **10th National “Walk Among the Olive Trees” Day** in Bitetto. The starting point will be the charming **Piazza S. Maria la Veterana**.

🫒🌳 This event is not simply a walk in nature. This year, it represents a concrete gesture of solidarity with and support for the olive-growing sector, which is experiencing a severe crisis. Promoting our olive trees means learning about and protecting our history, our landscape, and our local economy.

Here’s what awaits you during the day:

• **Social gathering and guided tasting** at the *Oleificio Cooperativo Produttori Agricoli di Bitetto* (Cooperative Oil Mill of Bitetto Agricultural Producers). A specialized taster will guide us through a tasting experience, teaching us how to recognize the characteristics of a truly high-quality extra virgin olive oil compared with ordinary industrial oil sold on store shelves.

• **A closer look at health:** *“The benefits of extra virgin olive oil for our health,”* presented by Professor Vanessa Desantis and Dr. Marialuisa Sveva Marozzi of the University of Bari Aldo Moro. They will help us discover the valuable protective and nutritional qualities of our extra virgin olive oil.

The event is organized by the **National Association of Oil Cities** and the **Municipality of Bitetto**, with the valuable collaboration of the **Cooperativa Olio Nostro Oil Mill**, **Bitetto Runners**, and the **“Carpe Diem” University of the Third Age**.

📲 **Register for the walk free of charge** by scanning the QR code on the official poster or by filling out the form at this link:
