VIRAMARE...il Musical, Christmas Edition

PRESS RELEASE:
DECEMBER 20, 2026 – DOORS OPEN AT 7:30 P.M. – CURTAIN AT 8:00 P.M.
THE CRAZIEST SHIP IN THE ENTIRE OCEAN RETURNS TO THE STAGE
IN MARTINA FRANCA (TA) – “VALERIO CAPPELLI”
SMALL MUNICIPAL THEATER

A ship ready to set sail, an impeccable crew, and a gala that is repeated identically—but differently—every year. These are the ingredients of “VIRAMARE – The Musical,” Christmas Edition.

Following last May’s success, the Fuori Tempo Cultural Theater Company promises to transform the stage of the “Valerio Cappelli” Small Municipal Theater (Vico II Giuseppe Testa, 16) into a place beyond time, where the boundaries between the sea and life become blurred.

Under the patronage of the Municipality of Martina Franca, the Department of Cultural Activities and Entertainment, the Department of Tourism and Territorial Marketing, and the Department of Productive Activities.

The journey of the souls: the show portrays a crossing filled with expectations and vulnerability. At the helm of the ship is Leon Preveaux (played by Fabio Tamburrano), assisted by the ship’s doctor, his wife Frau Ludmilla (Arianna Semeraro). Together, they promise their guests the refinement of the “Gala of the Tides,” but beneath the surface of formal composure, deep tensions are vibrating.

Giving voice to the inner conflicts between freedom and the wounds of the past are the crew’s irreverent souls: Stern (Salvatore Blasi) and Bow (Paolo Colucci).

On board the “floating shell,” we meet the family consisting of Paul Hardonk (Paolo Decuia), his ex-wife Jacqueline (Sabrina Palmisano), and their son Richard (Angelo Semeraro). This family unit represents a strict commitment to order, prestige, and devotion to appearances—an attitude inevitably destined to clash with the unpredictability of the sea.

The invisible engine of the journey: Emotions. Amid this uproar of events, the true engine of the journey is the emotions that filter reality. Three symbolic figures observe and accompany the passengers’ stories with profound introspection:

Fear (Antonio Potenza) and Trust (Giulia Convertini)

Making the atmosphere even more intense is the appearance of Marine (Sofia Palmisano), a mysterious enchantress who seems to guard the secret of the most authentic connection with each person’s inner self.

A suspended epilogue: The crossing thus becomes a shared emotional journey, a metaphor in which the sea reflects Life itself, (played by Nicola Neglia). It is Life that, in its flow, reconciles conflicts and settles human contradictions. Because, as the heart of the musical suggests: “…ultimately, there is no blame—it is simply Life.”

Crossed destinies on deck: Among the passengers, the musical shines a spotlight on unbreakable bonds and family dynamics. Omar Le Feries (Emanuele Solazzo) and Kristina (Sara Fumarola) stand out as a very close-knit couple, accompanied by his parents: Grimilde (played by Luisa D’Amore) and Pancrazio Le Feries (Cristian Nardelli), driven by conflicting values, fears, and desires, along with the other protagonists of a journey that inevitably intertwines the destinies of those who have chosen to come aboard.

The crew also includes the wonderful dancers—choreographed by the highly talented Salvatore Blasi—who provide the backdrop, amid lights and music, to this marvelous crossing: Sara Blonda, Giulia Buonfrate, Chiara Colucci, Arianna Galasso, Federica Rana, Rebecca Semeraro, and Andri Voka.

At the helm of the ship are the extraordinary Director and Artistic Director, Claudio Russano, and his assistants: Giusi Basile, Alessia Castellana, and Andrea Capitaneo.
