At **La Casa degli Artisti di Gallipoli**, recipes become gestures of love and care

On November 25, the presentation of *Ricette che innamorano* by **Karina Tropea**, blending art, memory, and reflection on violence against women.

**GALLIPOLI – November 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.**

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, La Casa degli Artisti, Gallipoli’s artist residency, will host the presentation of *Ricette che innamorano* by Karina Tropea on Wednesday, November 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

The event will bring together literature, gastronomy, art, and social awareness, transforming food into a universal language capable of expressing love, sharing, welcome, and care for relationships.

Karina Tropea, a passionate globetrotter and a lover of cuisine understood as an authentic act of love, will take the audience on a journey through different recipes, cultures, and traditions. She will show how food is not merely nourishment, but above all a means of communication, connection, and an opportunity to build bonds. Preparing a dish, sharing it, and caring for those seated at our table become gestures that speak of respect, attentiveness, and reciprocity—fundamental values in building healthy relationships free from every form of violence.

Joining the author in conversation will be **Daniela Giannuzzi**, a lawyer, civil and commercial mediator, and expert in environmental law and sustainability, and **Maruska Ciricugno**, a nutrition educator and naturopath. Through their respective expertise and perspectives, they will contribute to broadening the discussion on care, respect, awareness, and individual and collective responsibility.

The evocative setting of La Casa degli Artisti will provide the backdrop for the event, where the “alienist” works from **Giorgio De Cesario**’s *Sfascismo* series will engage in dialogue with the canvases of **Rita De Matteis**, creating a visual journey in which art becomes a tool for denunciation, remembrance, and questioning reality.

A particularly significant role will be given to Giorgio De Cesario’s work *Parvane*, displayed at the center of the room. Also belonging to the **“Sfascismo”** series, the work is dedicated to the Iranian female students who died during a U.S. bombing.

It is an artistic presence that draws attention to the value of women’s lives, the right to education, and the tragic vulnerability of young people whose lives are overwhelmed by the violence of conflict.

In this context, November 25 will take on an even broader meaning: from gender-based violence to the violence of war, from the denial of rights to the need to promote a culture founded on dignity, freedom, and respect for the individual.

To symbolically share the significance of the occasion, participants are invited to wear something red—a color that evokes the memory of victims of violence and renews the commitment not to forget. The presentation will be followed by an aperitif featuring a selection of recipes from the book, giving tangible form to Karina Tropea’s message and transforming conviviality into a moment of connection and sharing.

A book, works of art, and a table laden with food: three different languages conveying a single message. Because caring, respecting, and recognizing others are forms of love that know no violence.

The event is curated by **Domenicaisabella Bono Mariano, Raffaele Bono Mariano, and Maria Cristina Maritati.**
