The new theater season at the Kennedy Theater in Fasano continues with the collaboration of the City of Fasano and the Pugliese Public Theater. A very rich program, with ten shows selected among the best Italian productions.

The Late Mattia Pascal, published in 1904, is the novel that gave Pirandello worldwide fame and, in continuity with Wilde, Dostoevsky, Stevenson and at the same time as Conrad, Freud, Kafka, will spread in twentieth-century literature the theme of the Double, the Doppelgänger, in such an invasive way as to irritate Nabokov who considered it "deadly boring." In reality, in Pirandello's seminal novel, the vicissitudes of Mattia Pascal and his mirror Adriano Meis are the opposite of boredom: there are so many twists and turns, and the space/time where they take place in continuous overlapping, suggesting in the reduction for the stage a non-realistic key, and inducing the theatrical machinery to mix with the parallel language of cinema, which also developed at the beginning of the "short century."
