FUS is a project by Teatro dei Borgia born after three years of permanent workshop on the themes of work and being artists. The show directly involves the five artists in a work that speaks of creation, inspiration, exploitation, but above all of an art that needs space and time for research, and the struggle to obtain them in a system that rewards only productivity. The performative moment, playful, fun and fragmentary, is built plundering dramatic structures from the works of Anton Chekhov, which are then recomposed with excerpts from the CCNL dello spettacolo (National Collective Labor Contract) and the Ministerial Decree that establishes the FNSV (National Fund for Live Entertainment ex FUS). In a theater space stripped, overturned and reinvented, in which part of the audience is on stage and part of the scenes are among the spectators, we start from the condition of artists to discuss work and effort, ambition and laziness, inspiration and exploitation, stability and change as intrinsic traits of the relationship between humans and work in everyone's life. From Chekhov remains philosophy and feeling, but for goodness' sake: Away with the Birch Trees!
