Un Sabato con Gli Amici
"A Saturday with Friends" is a novel by Andrea Camilleri, published by Mondadori in 2009.

Together with other writings and novels, such as “The Grey Suit” and “Km 123,” it belongs to the less well-known literary production of the author, as it is not connected to the Sicilian settings with which his fame is associated, and which have come to be considered, in the collective imagination, the narrative place of his literary production. Camilleri, due to his education and artistic trajectory, is rightly considered an important master of Italian theater, and even in the narrative field, he often drew from the universe of theater to outline and construct his stories and characters.

Camilleri presents seven characters—middle-aged bourgeois friends—and delves into their minds and lives through brief flashbacks of childhood, adolescence, and youth, leading to a sad present: a Saturday in which three couples of friends meet to spend the evening together, as usual, but which will end up reviving ancient and dangerous ghosts.
