BIOGRAFIA DI UN VIAGGIATORE

The group exhibition of contemporary art entitled "BIOGRAPHY OF A TRAVELER: Roots, Losses, and Landings," curated by Dores Sacquegna, opens on Sunday, November 17 at 7:00 PM. Organized by Primo Piano LivinGallery and sponsored by the municipality of Lecce, the exhibition will be held from November 17 to 30 at the Fondazione Palmieri in Vico dei Sotterranei in Lecce. The exhibition opens with live performances by two Apulian artists: Massimiliano Manieri with "Return to Gaza" and Nunzio Lobasso with "Sublimations."

THE EXHIBITION

The true journey does not consist in seeking new lands but in having new eyes (Proust)

Through the three identity acts of roots, losses, and landings, the event aims to explore the mechanisms of art's ethical and political function. Here, the word "journey" is understood as freedom, detachment, exile, rebirth, care, roots, memory. The exhibition presents the testimonies of sixteen contemporary artists from the United States, Austria, Luxembourg, Iraq (concerning the foreign artists), in dialogue with their Apulian colleagues.

A multidisciplinary exhibition that invites the observer to embark on a journey marked by the idea of "root/origin," "loss/void," offering cues of "landing/rebirth."
