"Heroes" is an album that features a jazz veteran alongside three young musicians of great talent and already established careers. When it involves Enrico Pieranunzi, the undisputed master of international jazz piano, we could describe this work as a guarantee of quality, both in interpretation and composition. The ensemble of heroes includes Aldo Di Caterino, a magical interpreter of the flute and a rising star in the Italian scene. Despite being very young, he already boasts a series of awards, recognitions, certificates, and prestigious collaborations. The rhythmic and compositional support is completed by the presence of Carlo Bavetta on double bass and Cesare Mangiocavallo on drums.
This is an example of how the new Italian generation is fluid, powerful, naturally modern, but also perfectly aware and knowledgeable about the tradition of jazz and its roots. **ALDO DI CATERINO**
Graduated from the Bari Conservatory with top marks in classical flute, composition, arrangement, and jazz music, he further refined his skills and knowledge at the Il Pentagramma academy, also delving into Brazilian music. He has won numerous international competitions: First place at Tomorrows Jazz Jazz 2021, Veneto Jazz 2022, First place at "Chicco Bettinardi" 2022, "Massimo Urbani International Award 2022", First place at Bucharest International Jazz Competition Edition Musical Execution San Nicola Youth. First place at the EurOrchestra International New Interpreters 2011 award Civera. First place in the "orchestral formation as flutist" at the 12th National Igor Stravinsky Music Competition; Diploma of first prize with 96/100 points at the 12th National Igor Stravinsky Music Competition as a flutist. He participates in the recordings of many soundtracks and regularly collaborates with many musicians of international repute.
