**From San Vito dei Normanni to Salento, from Southern Italy to the Mediterranean.**
The workshop aims to provide an introduction to the **traditional dances of Southern Italy** within the context of Mediterranean dances.
The objective is to discover the uniqueness of the **pizzica pizzica**, starting from San Vito dei Normanni, Andrea's hometown, and extending to the performance styles of central and southern Puglia.
The first part includes a warm-up to facilitate the **learning of the steps**; thereafter, the rhythms of the **tarantella** will be introduced, and we will attempt to establish a step code based on key concepts of traditional dance; this will be followed by a section dedicated to arm movements, then another focused on **partner dance** and its dynamics (from technical to symbolic aspects); the final part, which is also the aim of the session, will be dedicated to dancing and applying the elements discussed during the meeting.
Andrea's method was the subject of a Philosophy degree thesis, presented in a work titled “*Pizzica between Analog and Digital Language. Multimodal Teaching Method Notebook*.”
There are no age or level restrictions.
