Imagine a place where wine is not just a beverage but a narrative: a story that weaves tradition with innovation, centuries-old experiences with youthful perspectives. This is Evoluzione Naturale 2025, the event taking place on January 26 and 27, 2025, at the former Capuchin Convent in Grottaglie, bringing a limitless dialogue between the protagonists of European natural wine.
Sixty natural wine artisans from eight European countries—Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Slovenia, Austria, and beyond—will gather to celebrate viticulture that respects the earth. Here, wine becomes a universal language, a common dialect that speaks of passion and sustainability.
This year, the core of the event is the unique relationship between young winemakers and historic masters. More than colleagues, they are custodians of a shared heritage, engaged in a passing of the baton that blends ancient techniques with modern visions. Young producers choose Puglia, and Grottaglie in particular, not just as a market but as a place of learning, discovering that a vineyard is not just land but memory and life.
The heart of Evoluzione Naturale is the tasting tables, a unique opportunity to explore the creations of the winemakers present, meet them directly, and savor their wines. Here, each glass is a story, a chance to discover territories, production philosophies, and a love for the land.
Alongside the tasting tables, two unmissable experiences will delve into the art of wine:
• Scientific Workshop: "The Microbiology of Wine – Theory and Practice in Chaotic Times," led by experts Giancarlo Moschetti, Cataldo Calabretta, and coordinated by Matteo Gallello, will focus on the challenges posed by climate change and the solutions adopted by winemakers.
• Tasting Workshop: a sensory journey led by Matteo Gallello and Cataldo Calabretta where six Gaglioppo and four great Mediterranean reds will be compared. Not a competition, but a meeting to grasp their essence and connection to the territory.
On January 25, the Fuori Salone will kick off the celebration. Grottaglie's venues will transform into meeting points for tastings, stories, and conviviality. The city will be a grand stage to experience natural wine in a unique and welcoming atmosphere.
Evoluzione Naturale is not just an event for enthusiasts, but a true manifesto. An invitation to rediscover respect for the earth, celebrate the identity of territories, and recognize in wine a philosophy of life capable of uniting generations.
