After the success of previous years, the Youth Group Work in Progress Association, with the sponsorship and collaboration of the Municipality of Poggiardo, organizes the next edition of the White Night on August 13th, the 5th edition of the White Night. This year, the motto accompanying the event will be LESS WORRIES - TASTE LIFE: an invitation to leave behind daily worries, facing life with lightness and celebrating the pleasure of being together.

On this occasion, the squares and alleys of the historic center will come alive with live music, artistic installations, shows, entertainment, food stalls, and much more. WHITE – the color of harmony and purity – will be the star of the evening. To become part of the luminous and dreamy atmosphere of the night, the organizers invite everyone to dress in white.

The great novelty accompanying this fifth edition is the White Sensation show curated by Stardust Show. Poggiardo will have the honor of hosting, for the first time in Southern Italy, an aerial show that enchants the sky, capable of providing a breathtaking sensory experience. The sky transforms into a theater, thanks to the magic of acrobats in flight, dancers, and performers who create a visual symphony combining enchantment and poetry. The shows are journeys suspended between sky and earth, intertwined tales of bodies in flight that captivate the audience with performances that blend art, technique, and pure emotion, reaching new heights of inspiration. Stardust is synonymous with undeniable excellence, having been awarded the Best Animation Agency at the Italian Dance Music Awards in 2024. In an evening where White is the undisputed protagonist, the elegance of this color meets the magic of the universe in a journey filled with music, astral projections, emotions, and wonder.

A rich Musical Program will accompany the event with live performances catering to all tastes. In Piazza Umberto I, performances by The Herta’nroll, Tamurria, and Kalinka will follow one another. Via Montegrappa will be wrapped in the dub and reggae sounds of Rebel Lion, Jonio Posse, Lion I Drens, Salento Dub Addiction, EarthikalTowa, and Stephen I. In the splendid setting of Largo Santa Sofia, jazz enthusiasts can enjoy the music of the Jazz Duo formed by Giada Imparato and Guglielmo Piva. In Piazza Episcopo, the White Sensation show will be accompanied by DJ Alberto Minnella and vocalist Frakatame. Finally, the Misto Band will enliven the streets of the town.

The Art Area will be the stage for the return to live painting of the artistic duo NEEA.BROS, also creators of the N.B.Festival (Notami Bene Festival), the first experimental festival aimed at new generations with a double session of Visual Arts and Music. The Festival will be hosted, exclusively, in the wonderful "Nino della Notte" Artistic High School in Poggiardo. Live on-street interviews from the Talk-Fest de LEMEGLIOGIOVENTÙ will also be broadcast, along with exhibitions of tattoos, comics, piercings, rock'n'roll posters, and much more creativity under the stars.

The Street Arts program is also rich with interesting proposals: besides the already mentioned Stardust Show, two more squares in the town, the villa of the Madonnina in Piazza Umberto I and Largo S. Sofia, will host the silent show "Head, Heart, Legs" by Flavia Performer and the fire-breathing stiltwalker show by Namas.

Piazza Giovanni Paolo II will become the stage for various dance styles showcased by several schools from the area: Urban Dance Factory, Kalimba Studio Dance, Relevé, Centro Studi Danza Revolution, and P.S.G Onde Vive.

There’s also a thought for the little guests who can enjoy a Kids Area, a dedicated space on Corso Matteotti (covered market), with inflatables, bubble shows, mascots, baby dance, and cotton candy.

For car enthusiasts, there will be a Motors Area featuring a rally and tuning car gathering, along with American cars, vintage cars, motorcycles, and Vespas across Via Montegrappa, Via Siciliani, and Largo Piscina.

In the evening's program, ample space is dedicated to different Sports. In Piazza Regina Margherita, you can attend Judo exhibitions by Asd Judo Kodokan, Mini Volley matches by GS Pallavolo Marittima, Boxing matches by ASD Alex Boxe Tricase, and finally, Clay Pigeon Shooting.

The area dedicated to Astronomy will also be captivating, curated by G.A.S. – Gruppo Astrofili del Salento. There will be a special opportunity to look up at the sky and be fascinated by the mysteries and beauty of the universe. In an increasingly fast-paced world, stopping to gaze at the stars reminds us of the extraordinary nature surrounding us and the much yet to be discovered. This embodies the philosophy of "Less Worries" launched by the organizers of the White Night. Among the proposed initiatives will be a mobile astronomical observatory, an astrophotography exhibition titled "At the Edge of the Universe," and astronomical-themed video projections.

So get ready to turn off the lights, ignite the wonder, and explore the universe. For the occasion, the town center will host a large Food Area, with gourmet offerings and local flavors designed to accompany the experience with taste and lightness.

There will also be a selection of Artisan Stalls offering unique creations: bijoux, ceramics, textiles, objects, and much more.

The White Night is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in an evocative atmosphere among Music, Art, and starry skies, to share together an unforgettable night.
