From Latvia to Puglia: art, wine, and fragrances in a multisensory experience

What happens when the tactile art of a Latvian artist meets the wine of a small Apulian winery?
The result is WINE ON CANVAS, an event that is not just an exhibition, but an immersive experience engaging all the senses: smell, touch, sight.

A creative journey connecting Latvia and Puglia, intertwining painting, wine, and scents in a new and evocative narrative.

The evening will feature Annika Dzerve, a painter with a poetic and textured style, and La Pruina Vini, a local winery deeply devoted to sensory exploration and the enhancement of the arts.

As part of the cultural circuit Botteghe Aperte – Oria Pop-up Shops, on Wednesday, August 13 at 9:00 PM, Annika will lead a special live painting session using wine as watercolor: an intimate and surprising gesture, where pigment is drawn straight from the glass.

Every participant will have the chance to try this technique, paint on paper with wine, and take home a personal fragment of the experience.

Alongside Annika Dzerve’s works, visitors will also admire the visionary sculptures of Kristine Kvitka, a Latvian artist who transforms matter into fantastic creatures inspired by ancient northern forests. Figures suspended between myth and nature, evoking imaginary worlds rich with symbolism.

WINE ON CANVAS is also a sensory exploration: with The Scents of Puglia, guests can discover the fragrance that best represents them, choosing from essences of fig, almond, orange blossom, and Mediterranean resin.

With La Pruina Vini, purchasing a glass grants access to a guided mini-tasting, to learn how to recognize the hidden aromas in every sip.

The event will take place simultaneously with "AHPERò - The Grand Aperitif by Botteghe Aperte", organized by the association Pillaai, creator of the project hosting the Pop-up Shops on Via Roma.
