PROROGA MOSTRA "Il Silenzio delle Ombre" di Antonio Schiavano

BRINDISI: The exhibition “The Silence of Shadows” by Antonio Schiavano extended until 30 September

There is still time to be captivated by the works of Antonio Schiavano: the anthological exhibition The Silence of Shadows, set within the historic halls of Palazzo Granafei-Nervegna, will remain open until 30 September 2025.

The extension follows the remarkable success recorded throughout the summer and aims to give high school students the opportunity to experience the exhibition. Special guided tours, available by reservation and led by the Info Point staff, will introduce students to the language of photography and to the themes explored by the artist, such as self-perception, identity, and the often-conflicted relationship with one’s own appearance in contemporary society.

Featuring more than 140 works, the exhibition offers a compelling journey through Schiavano’s most celebrated projects – from Languishing to L’Attesa, from Riflessi to Dysmorphia, and from Sfumature to The Beauty and the Bane. Also on view is Amarcord, the series that rediscovers the Brindisi of the 1980s.

At the heart of the exhibition lies the concept of “Photomorphia,” a distinctive technique conceived by the artist himself, transforming photography into a living material through abrasion, solvents, and paint.

Endorsed by the Municipality and Province of Brindisi and by the Apulia Region, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to engage with Schiavano’s artistic vision and to embark upon a thought-provoking journey of introspection.
