George Street is the name of the docu-series made with the songs from Giorgio Stammati's album of the same name. The director, Emanuele Gaetano Forte, sets out in search of his friend Giorgio, determined to discover the reason for his departure to Scotland at any cost. George Street Live is a mix of cinema and live music, featuring the screening of the documentary and the live performance of the soundtrack by Giorgio Stammati and his band.
A street connects Giorgio to the world and at the same time divides him from it: George Street. It is short and narrow but simultaneously very long; it can take ten minutes on foot or 12 hours by planes and buses to traverse completely. The characters of this album all live on this street, finally distant and autonomous, with the world within reach, yet alone, frightened, forced to stay afloat in an ocean of opportunities. These are stories of hidden loneliness in the most beautiful cities, of intermittent video calls and terrible coffee, stories of new landscapes and summers without the sea.
