“Words and music are born together. It’s something that has always been part of my life. Because I myself was born in music.” These are the words of Pino Daniele, the great singer-songwriter, guitarist, and composer who passed away in 2015, to whom the show "Everything Grows and Goes" is dedicated – Around Pino Daniele with Sasà Calabrese (lyricist, singer, double bassist, and guitarist); Dario De Luca (actor, theater director, and playwright); Daniele Moraca (singer-songwriter and musician); Roberto Musolino (musician and music producer); and Francesco Montebello (drummer). The guest of the evening will be saxophonist Alberto La Neve.
An intense and engaging musical narrative that explores the life and soul of Pino Daniele, the poet of the Mediterranean. Between words and melodies, the show retraces the crucial moments of his career, from artistic challenges to the search for a unique musical identity.
The stage transforms into a place of reflection and passion, where his songs intertwine with the narrative of his existence, revealing the beating heart of a man who forever changed the Italian music landscape.
A man who always nurtured hope: first in his city, Naples, and in his eternal desire for redemption, recording the enthusiasm and hopeful adherence to the promises of periodic rebirths announced but never realized.
Hope always engaged him, from the era of mayor Valenzi, the first Neapolitan mayor who came from communism, to that of Bassolino, up to the last of de Magistris.
Like a seismograph embedded in the heart of the city, Pino Daniele recorded its fluctuating movements, tuning into the eternal pendulum suspended between redemption and damnation.
Thanks to love, he always believed in the emergence of the possible from the impossible, in grace where it seemed that sin had eroded all trust, even when he set to music and words the profound discontent for grace betrayed: “Napule è 'na carta sporca e nisciuno se ne 'mporta” (Naples is a dirty piece of paper, and no one cares).
On stage, the protagonists perform the greatest hits of the Neapolitan musician such as Alleria, Terra mia, Je sto vicino a te, Quanno chiove, Io vivo come te, Napul’è, and Je so’ pazzo.
True narratives of humanity that move and provoke reflection. Blues, jazz, rock, soul, funk, and Neapolitan tradition blend together for songs that speak of the soul in a natural and unfiltered way.
Not just a single musical genre. His style is a unique and easily recognizable crossover that still resonates with a broad audience today.
The show is an emotional tribute that celebrates the genius, his city, and his immortal music for a production by Scena verticale.
The last non-subscribed event of the theater season "The Sense of Words" will take place on Sunday, April 12 at the Teatro Radar with the show "Sfìdati di me" with Paolo Kessisoglu and directed by Gioele Dix.
