Rassegna Nazionale di Musica Sacra "Musica Divina"

The event is part of the **Apulian Choral Festival**, which also includes other choral showcases. Each showcase takes place in a different location each year, in order to engage all the provinces of Apulia through the various themes proposed: sacred and liturgical music, secular music, school and youth choirs, and repertoire for choir and orchestra. In particular, this year **Barletta**, in the BAT province, has been chosen as the venue for this showcase. The primary aim of **“Musica Divina”** is to rediscover and celebrate the rich heritage of religious music while, at the same time, encouraging and raising the quality of liturgical celebrations through interaction among the various groups and familiarity with the repertoires presented.

The programme for the day will be organised as follows: in the morning, each participating choir, coming from the various provinces of Apulia, will be assigned a church, where it will sing the liturgical hymns during the celebration of Holy Mass. In the afternoon, the Sacred Music Concert Showcase will take place at the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre.

The event poster provides details concerning the churches, choirs and times.

The choirs will perform in turn from the early afternoon onwards, presenting their programmes, with each choir having 20 minutes of music. The showcase will conclude with the 7:00 p.m. evening Mass, sung by all the choirs. The celebration will be presided over by His Excellency the Most Reverend Monsignor Leonardo D’Ascenzo, Archbishop of Trani–Bisceglie–Barletta.

The event was conceived and organised by Chorus Inside Puglia APS ETS, affiliated with Federcori.

The Festival will involve 10 city churches in the morning. In the afternoon, the Sacred Music Concert Showcase will take place at the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre on Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
