"Echi e tessiture. Ricercando l’imprevedibile" al Museo Ribezzo Brindisi

The **Ribezzo Museum of Brindisi**, a place that preserves and brings back to life the many memories of a land—Brindisi, which has always been a crossroads of peoples and cultures—once again opens its spaces to contemporary music.

On **Friday, October 16**, at **6:30 p.m.**, as part of the Brindisi Biblio-Museum Hub’s concert series “**Museum in Listening**” (artistic direction by Biagio **Putignano**), **“Echoes and Textures: Searching for the Unpredictable,”** a work for instruments and narrator by composer Cosimo **Colazzo**, with texts by Giuliana **Adamo**, will be presented. The work was produced by the **Piazza del Mondo Cultural Association** and conceived as a dialogue among languages, forms of knowledge, and experiences of listening.

The evening’s featured performers will be the **Agorart ensemble**: Luigi **Bisanti** on flute, Lucia **Rizzello** on flute and alto flute, Cosimo **Colazzo** on piano, and Giuliana **Adamo** as narrator.

At the heart of **“Echoes and Textures”** is weaving, understood not only as an ancient practice deeply rooted in cultures, but also as an image of artistic creation and of the relationships it sets in motion. Musical research, poetic and literary writing, and anthropological reflection intertwine, giving rise to a polyphonic tapestry of sounds, words, memories, and meanings.

Following the thread of art, **from Penelope’s loom** to the **poetics of Maria Lai’s sewn books**, Giuliana Adamo’s text traverses centuries of literature and memory, bringing Homer into resonance with some of the great voices of modern and contemporary poetry: Emily **Dickinson**, Marina **Tsvetaeva**, Paul **Celan**, Amelia **Rosselli**, Antonella **Anedda**, and Maria **Attanasio**.

Weaving thus becomes an act of composing, remembering, and establishing connections: building a form while, at the same time, leaving it open to encounter and transformation.

Cosimo Colazzo’s music unfolds within a research-oriented dimension that favors essential, rarefied sonic materials, arranged in a shifting texture of presences and absences.

Sound does not entirely fill the space; instead, it allows silence, anticipation, and suspension to emerge. The result is a form of listening in which the structure does not appear as something definitively fixed, but as a process that takes shape over time, opening itself to the possibility of the unforeseen.

Hence the subtitle **“Searching for the Unpredictable”**: an apparent paradox that becomes the poetic core of the work. To search means to construct, to question, and to establish relationships; the unpredictable is what can emerge within this texture without being entirely planned.

In the setting of the Ribezzo Museum, where artifacts, traces, and testimonies reveal the layers of cultures that have crossed the Mediterranean and Apulia, **“Echoes and Textures”** thus finds a particularly resonant space.

The concert, with free admission, invites the public to enter a **dimension of discovery and listening**, in which art presents itself at once as a **gesture of construction and an opening toward possibility**.
