Fire of Georgia - Royal National Ballet of Georgia

The Royal National Ballet of Georgia arrives at the Teatro Impero on December 4, 2026, with a spectacular show that has already won the hearts of audiences around the world and is now ready to set Brindisi alight!

Colchis, the land of the myth of Medea and Jason, known today as Georgia, comes to life through the extraordinary performances of the ensemble directed by Gela Potskhishvili and Maia Kiknadze.

The show presents a vibrant mosaic, with every step, movement, and costume telling the story of Georgia’s different regions. Some of the dances date back to the 8th century BC and, despite their ancient origins, retain such dynamism and modernity that they have inspired some of today’s most famous pop stars.

The combat dances, in which clashing swords take center stage in a whirlwind of sparks, alternate with dances featuring elegant movements that evoke the myths and legends of this ancient land.

Artistic directors Gela Potskhishvili and Maia Kiknadze belong to the renowned Georgian Potskhishvili dance dynasty, which has preserved and innovated Georgia’s ancient choreographic tradition for over 60 years. The youngest member of the Potskhishvili dynasty, Giorgi, who grew up within the ranks of the Royal National Ballet of Georgia, was recently promoted, at just twenty-two years of age, to principal dancer at the Dutch National Ballet.
