Aspettando San Martino

Erchie is preparing for one of the most eagerly awaited events of the autumn. On November 7, starting at 8:00 p.m., the town will host the event “Waiting for San Martino” in the evocative setting of Parco delle Rimembranze. Sponsored by the Municipality of Erchie, the initiative combines Salento’s ancient food and wine traditions with the energy of live pop-rock music. The event is organized and managed in every detail by the Li To Chiesi APS association.

The feast of San Martino has always represented an important moment of conviviality in Salento, associated with tapping the new wine and celebrating the products of the land. In this spirit, the event will offer a culinary journey featuring classic pettole—fried fresh on site by the “Aiuta tuo fratello” association—as well as meat prepared by “La Ucceria e Lu Furnieddu da Nene,” hot chestnuts, wine, and beer.

Providing the soundtrack for the event will be the Salento group Shocchezze, formed in Gallipoli in 2020 and led by Cristian Veronio. After taking part in the national finals of Sanremo Rock & Trend for two consecutive years—this year performing the single *Fluorescente Arancio*—the band will take the stage with a setlist full of rhythm and singer-songwriter influences. The evening’s program will also feature dance performances by the students of the Marika Dance school, further establishing the event as an excellent blend of local identity and contemporary entertainment. The evening will continue and conclude to the rhythm of music, with a DJ set that will involve the entire audience.
