FOR A FISTFUL OF LAND FESTIVAL
BEYOND BORDERS AND RUBBLE
September 16, double appointment in Assisi
Wars for borders have returned to the world stage. And the rubble.
But is it just a political issue or also an anthropological one? Are the borders of nations faltering or those of our own selves?
Is the rubble only visible or are there also invisible ones?
The festival born in Sicily is now in its second edition, For A Fistful Of Land. "Beyond borders and rubble" becomes a national event and arrives in Assisi, the city of St. Francis.
An important stop, with a double appointment, thanks to the hospitality of the Laudato Si' Citadel, Pro Civitate Christiana in Assisi, which immediately embraced the festival and the initiative.
At 6pm at the Sala San Giovanni of the Laudato Si' Citadel in Assisi, there will be a meeting titled "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem (from Psalm 122)." Beyond the wars and rubble of visible and invisible wars. Don Tonio dell'Olio, President of Pro Civitate Christiana, Maurizio Pagliassotti, journalist and author of "The Invisible War" by Einaudi, will speak. The session will be moderated by Giuseppe Rapè.
At 9pm in the same room, admission is free, there will be the narrative show "Pinuccio" by and with Aldo Rapè and original music by Zafarà. A multi-award-winning love story in the bowels of the earth, with a strong emotional impact.
The festival began its journey in Sicily, from July 1 to 13 in various locations including Caltanissetta, the Municipality of Delia (main partner of the initiative), and Bronte, within the MUSA Agricultural Company, at the foot of Mount Etna, with events from sunset to sunrise.
Shared moments of reflection on the earth as a place to inhabit and not as a boundary to mark, as a field of blossoming and not as an inert deposit of rubble.
The question of this year, at the heart of the festival, is posed by Aldo Rapè, actor and artistic director of the event and founder of PrimaQuinta: "Are the rubble only visible or are there also invisible rubble? Our ambition lies in the need, today, to talk about the earth and we will do it with experts, poets, and artists who will interpret the topic in a thousand different ways. And we could not skip Assisi, the place of the saint of the Earth and Nature."
The earth as a meeting and exchange space between different cultures, religions, and socio-economic systems. The earth as a free and indefinite space of inclusion. The earth as the common denominator of our human experience. Earth of everyone and Earth of no one. Beyond borders and rubble.
