With KRYPTOS, SCD Studio (Perugia) presents the recent research of Susanna Cati. Curated by Barbara Pavan, the exhibition unfolds as a traversal of the inner geographies of memory, developing a path in which autobiographical elements expand into a shared dimension. The works construct a space of resonance, activating a dialogue between interiority and history, between trace and transformation. The opening will take place on Saturday, 9 May 2026 at 5:30 pm. The project is accompanied by a bilingual Italian/English catalogue published by Al3vie Editore. The exhibition will be open to the public from 9 May to 9 September 2026.
KRYPTOS gathers Cati’s most recent research: a deeply introspective investigation which, while rooted in the artist’s autobiographical dimension, opens onto a broader and shared reflection on the human condition. The project develops as a form of “emotional archaeology,” a process of excavation within memory in which fragments and traces of lived experience are recovered and reorganised into a fluid and continuously evolving narrative; memory thus emerges as a dynamic element, subject to ongoing transformation and rewriting, while the personal account extends towards a universal dimension. The “diary” evoked by the artist becomes a collective space, a site of resonance in which the viewer is invited to recognise themselves and to share the most profound emotional nuances of everyday life. The exhibition path accompanies the visitor through the multiple stratifications of lived experience, between continuity and rupture, restoring the complexity of existence - from pain to joy, across all intermediate shades - and questioning what persists and what transforms over time. The articulated body of works constructs an open field of signs and questions, in which memory and future intertwine in the present, inviting reflection on the meaning of existence and on identity as an ever-evolving process. The experience of the exhibition leads the viewer through a dynamic oscillation between immersion and distance: a passage across time and space that offers the opportunity not only to understand the works, but also to interrogate oneself.
