The Rocca Paolina Exhibition Centre in Perugia will host, within the framework of the Parole a Braccio Festival, the launch of TESSITURE by Raffaella Polverini – editor, author, and visual artist. The event offers a unique opportunity to delve into a project that weaves together written word and textile art, creating a vivid dialogue between voice, material, and memory.

The event includes readings from the book by Sandra Frenguelli and Mariangela Ronzini of the LaAV Reading Circle of Perugia, set within an immersive installation curated by Barbara Pavan. This installation features a selection of artworks from the publication itself. These pieces are not merely scenographic elements but are integral to the narrative—visual fragments that converse with the text, deepening and amplifying its meaning. The author will present the book in conversation with Giovanni Luca Delogu.

TESSITURE is a layered, collective work: a journey that blends personal and shared experiences through writing, history, spirituality, and artistic expression. It gives voice to encounters, memories, reflections, and figures that have marked the author’s path. Each piece—created using a wide range of materials such as textiles, branches, paper, pigments, threads, and fragments of life—is the outcome of a process of listening and transformation, visually accompanying every word.

The event is conceived as a space for connection and presence, where reading becomes an experience, and visual art forms a narrative fabric—opening a space for new connections and shared meanings.

Raffaella Polverini is an editor, author, and expert in facilitating creative writing workshops. Over the years, she has launched various editorial projects, including the publishing imprints Kaba Edizioni and Al3vie, through which she explores the written word as a tool for storytelling and human connection. She curates the blogs CartaVetro and Leggimileggi, dedicated to reflection and dialogue around reading and writing. She has contributed to several magazines with articles and audio interviews, particularly for the blogs Casamatta and CartaVetro. Her literary work includes children’s stories—Bilù’s Dream, Cousin Roxio, A New Game, and Color Bilù—and young adult novels such as School’s Out! and Interior Device. In 2024, she published TESSITURE, a work that synthesizes her creative journey: a literary and artistic project that interlaces writing and textile art, becoming a true project room where words and materials act as both storytellers and exhibition pieces. Her experimentation with textile and literary weavings continues in 2025 with the founding of TXtileZine, a bilingual zine dedicated to contemporary international textile arts.
