Synopsis
"Think about it, Giacomino" represents one of the works in which Pirandello is able to give more intensity to a deep criticism, absolutely far from any conventional temptations of social conventions, hypocrisy, or masks with which common people disguise their lack of ethical principles. Professor Agostino Toti, a high school teacher, is rather old and discredited in the eyes of students and colleagues. Feeling outnumbered, he feels unable to continue teaching. Toti harbors resentment toward society as a whole. To seek revenge against the state he holds responsible for his failure, he marries a very young girl, Lillina. Lillina is pregnant by a young man from the village, Giacomino, but this does not deter Toti from his purpose, nor does it seem to disturb him much.
