Concerto di Davide Cabassi con le tre ultime Sonate di Beethoven
Classical music
Davide Cabassi's concert featuring Beethoven's last three Sonatas. Sixteen concerts by Roma Sinfonietta at the University of Rome 'Tor Vergata' for the 2024-2025 season, featuring chamber music, symphonic, jazz, gospel, and opera. Once again, this year, the Roma Sinfonietta Association is holding its concert season at the University of Rome 'Tor Vergata'. The program, planned by artistic director Luigi Lanzillotta, ranges from symphonic music to electronic, chamber music to choral music, and traditional songs from the Italian regions. There are seventeen events, taking place every Wednesday (with the sole exception of the Thursday, April 10th concert) at 6:00 pm in the 'Ennio Morricone' Auditorium, located in the Macroarea of Letters and Philosophy of Rome's second state university, at Via Columbia 1. It is one of the most important concert seasons in the capital, due to the number of concerts, the interest of the programs, and the quality of the performers, all Italian—a distinctive feature of these concerts—chosen from among the best that our country has to offer, such that there is no need to rely on foreign musicians. Another special merit of this season is bringing live music to the eastern area of Rome, which is almost totally lacking in it. However, these concerts attract music enthusiasts from all over Rome, and some of the audience also comes from outside Rome, particularly from the Castelli area, which is not far from the concert venue.
The opening concert on October 23rd will feature the Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra performing Mozart's music, alongside violinist and conductor Giuliano Carmignola, one of the most prestigious interpreters of 18th-century music by Vivaldi, Bach, and Mozart, with Claudio Abbado having chosen him as the soloist for his recording of all Mozart's violin concertos. For this rare and precious Roman concert, he has chosen two Violin Concertos and a Symphony by Mozart. The second concert of the season resumes the complete performance of Shostakovich's String Quartets, which began last year and is entrusted to one of the best Italian chamber groups, the Quartetto Guadagnini: this season will feature two appointments (November 6 and March 5) with what is considered the most important cycle of Quartets of the twentieth century. The most important cycle of Quartets in the entire history of music, however, is that of Beethoven, comprising seventeen sublime masterpieces: a three-year concert series is dedicated to it, with two sessions this year (April 9 and 10) performed by the Quartetto d’archi della Scala.
Thus, a season full of stimulating and varied offerings, alternating between classical concerts and other musical genres but always featuring music of great value with performers of the highest level, which every enthusiast will surely appreciate.
