Clara e la Notte di Natale, Ovvero lo Schiaccianoci

The new theater season 2024-2025 of the Curci Theater in Barletta continues.

Next appointment: Clara and the Christmas Night, or The Nutcracker

The Nutcracker? A Christmas tale whose dream of Clara, the battle of the mice, and the fantastical world have made it timeless. Inspired by the story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King by E.T.A. Hoffmann (1776-1822), Peter Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) creates one of the most famous and popular ballet scores of all time. Since its premiere in 1892 in St. Petersburg, this dance classic continues to enchant entire generations. With few references to the original, choreographer Mauro de Candia brings to the stage his choreographic reinterpretation in a completely renewed version: a magical journey into the adolescent world of dreams, fears, and magic, a mirror of the overwhelming world that we all have experienced. The Christmas theme enters the dimension of the affections of a girl who seeks her identity, reminding us that the eternity of the Nutcracker lies in the fantasy of those who have decided to run the world, to find themselves happy and adult in a reality made more beautiful by the ceremony of dreams. The protagonists of this production will be the young dancers from dance schools in the northern area, brought together on stage within the GBM Giovane Balletto Mediterraneo project, to bring to life Clara's dreams and limitless childish ingenuity.
